Can we apply for a dependent child visa after an Australian partner visa has been granted? When can we bring a dependent child from Philippines to Australia? And if the parents weren't married, must we get permission from the biological father for the child to migrate?
If a child is truly dependent on a partner visa holder for their daily needs, ie. food, clothing, shelter etc, then it is possible to apply for a dependent child visa after the temporary partner visa has been granted. This dependent child visa will allow the child to be added to a permanent partner visa later.
And no, if the child was born out of wedlock then the biological father has no rights under Philippines law.
