As an Australian living in the Philippines, I have insights into the differences between the two cultures, but in this case I've interviewed my 19 year old Filipina daughter to hear what she had to say about adjusting to life in Australia and in an Australian family for the first time. Valuable insights to help those with partner visas who are including children in the visa applications, and with child visas, to help with the transition from one culture to another and to deal with cross-cultural difficulties. Discussion about families, speaking English and not Tagalog, change of diet (especially not eating so much rice) and different food and healthier Australian diets, to differences in schooling (Australian schools versus Filipino schools).
